The Adoption Information Disclosure Request
On June 15, 2025, the NCRC stopped accepting new requests for the adoption information disclosure form.
Since September 16, 2025, after the transfer of the files, they are open for new requests. Now you can only get your adoption files through the NCRC. The adoption agencies will always refer you back to the NCRC.
Due to understaffing, the NCRC is currently experiencing delays. This has a few consequences:
- The status of Information Disclosure Request submissions is not changed into "in-progress" as there is not enough staff to check whether the submissions are complete.
- The legal response time to your submission (max. 45 or 75-days) does not start until your submission is officially "in-progress".
- As such, receiving a digital copy of your file might take longer than expected.
EARS continues to monitor this situation while addressing the relevant authorities to take action.
